ABOUT LISA

Lisa Pride is a play-by-play broadcaster & color commentator for pro & college baseball and softball. As a Minor League Baseball broadcaster, Lisa was recently part of history in the Florida State League. For the 1st time ever, the two teams (Jupiter Hammerheads & Palm Beach Cardinals) that Lisa called games for & that share the same ballpark won the FSL Championship title in back-to-back seasons.

Lisa has worked at every level of baseball from the Major Leagues to the Minors (Rookie, A, High-A, AA, AAA) to the Cape Cod Baseball League to the Arizona Fall League. Internationally, Lisa has reported from Canada & the Mexican Winter League, and she was a statistician for a World Baseball Classic Qualifying event in FL. At many of her stops in baseball, Lisa has been the 1st or only woman in her role; thus, dubbed: "The Queen of Diamonds” by one of her broadcast partners. However, Lisa’s 1st job in baseball wasn’t as royal; she was the Game-Day Music /SFX operator for the AA Twins. Just like the athletes that Lisa has interviewed, she has had to climb the ladder & play many different positions: Creative Content-Digital Producer, Multi-Media Journalist & Correspondent, Promotions & Marketing Producer, Videographer & Editor, In-Game Video Board Camera Operator, Pre & Postgame Host, In-Game Reporter, & Coach’s Show Host.

Lisa’s highlights include: calling play-by-play for Marlins Radio during multiple MLB Spring Training seasons; 1st woman play-by-play broadcaster in the FSL; 1st woman radio color analyst for the CCBL All-Star Game at Fenway Park; 1st to broadcast a Marlins Rookie League Playoff Game; and calling the Arizona Fall League playoffs & Championship game on MLB.com along with an inning on the MLB Network. As a creative content producer, Lisa was the 1st to provide video content from the FSL & (4) MLB ASG Futures Game for MiLB/MLB dot com.

As a broadcast veteran, Lisa has a passion for story-telling. She began her career as a TV sports anchor, reporter, & producer covering 2 World Series, multiple Super Bowls, the NHL Stanley Cup & NHL All Star Game, multiple Pro Golf & Tennis events, College Football Bowl Games, & many college & high school sports while also working with NBC Olympics for 2 Olympic Games (Winter & Summer). Lisa continues to tell sports stories today. Most recently, she started the "FSL Network" on YouTube & other platforms to highlight the League's players & broadcasters.

On the shores of Lake Erie is where Lisa’s love for sports began - especially for baseball and her hometown Cleveland (Indians) Guardians & Cincinnati Reds.

The start of baseball season meant that the snow would be melting & soon Lisa would be shagging balls for her brother, playing “wall ball”, & going to her dad’s softball games. Her brother and dad were her sports heroes.

In 3rd grade, Lisa was asked what she would like to be when she grew up. She said, “a baseball player”.

In high school, as a record-setting softball pitcher, Lisa was known as “Nurse K’ for all the strikeouts she commanded like “Doc K” did in baseball.

Lisa was a Div.1 scholar-athlete at the University of Dayton when she realized that she enjoyed talking sports more than playing. (Today, Lisa also calls play-by-play for college softball.)

A short detour led Lisa to Florida when she was selected to the prestigious Walt Disney World College Program. However, sports came calling again, and her broadcasting career took off like a rocket in Cape Canaveral. While at the University of Central Florida, Lisa called football & baseball games while hosting UCF’s “KnightLife TV” as the 1st woman sports anchor. While still in college, Lisa worked for NBC Sports and TNT Sports (including NBA All-Star Weekend), interned with CNN SPORTS & WESH-TV, and called a pro beach volleyball match.

Off the mic, Lisa co-founded the Together With Pride Foundation to help Deaf & hard of hearing children and their families; and One Baseball Mic, a community of baseball broadcasters focusing on diversity & inclusion in the broadcast booth. Proudly, OBM partnered with MLB in the Arizona Fall League & with RBI Baseball.
